nutella ravioli

Have you ever tried Chocolate Hazelnut Ravioli?  If you haven't you must because they are absolutely delicious.  Get yourself some wonton wrappers, a jar of Nutella, cooking oil, and confectioner's sugar and you're good to go!  Last time I made this sweet treat I garnished them with sugared mint leaves, but alas, my mint plant didn't make it through the winter.  This time I used some fresh raspberries and they did the trick, too.  What are some of your favorite ways to use Nutella?  Besides eating it right out of the jar, of course...

a fresh start

After removing gallons and gallons of water from our basement yesterday and the day before, I decided it was time to brighten things up around here.  Switching our bedding from winter to spring always puts a smile on my face because I LOVE this quilt.  It's so bright and cheerful!  I spent part of the afternoon sprawled across it in the sun with a good book.  How do you make your house say "spring?"

This weekend I attended a shower for my friend Sarah who's getting married on June 19th this year.  She and her fiance Ben are having their ceremony at our church and then moving the party downtown to the Providence Piers where they'll dance the night away. 
The shower was given by her sisters, Laura and Leah, and their mother Lorraine, and it was hosted by close family friends, Rocco and Annmarie.  Everyone worked together to create a special day for the bride-to-be that she'll always remember.

Laura, Sarah's sister, is a culinary student at Johnson & Wales University and she baked chocolate lava cakes with spiced whipped cream and fresh strawberry preserves for dessert.  Yummy!

I chose a punch bowl set for Sarah and Ben - it's such a great thing to have around for entertaining!
