happy weekend

(image via 20x200)
I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend - a pedicure, time spent with friends, and a possible trip to Ikea.  What are you looking forward to this weekend?

For now, here are my favorite things from the web this week -
- photos of Ezra's friend Fiona when she was still in utero
- yay for confetti!
- will have to try to make one like this soon
- pretty desktop and device wallpaper
- ooh, can we go here, please?
- mmm, a tasty breaskfast idea
- where to find fabric
- super cute DIY cupcake decor
- the most awesome e-Valentine's Day cards you'll ever find online
- amazing bridal shoes
- I wish Ezra has a crib like this
- if I have a baby girl I want her nursery to look just like this
- what a great way to preserve memories
- I would volunteer my services here any day
- a free downloadable love banner
- can't wait to try this genius idea in the kitchen

babylegs

Aren't these little legs adorable?  They move faster than my camera's shutter lately.
Still, but only temporarily.
I think Ezra looks so cute in his BabyLegs.

things to come

Last night marked the beginning of my first commissioned quilt!  This quilt is also the first project I have begun since Ezra was born.  So far all my other sewing has been fixing mistakes and working on old projects.
It felt good to be creating again.
These strips are patiently waiting until Ezra's nap so they can be ironed and then cut into blocks.
My toes in the morning, peeking out from my pink cheetah flannels.

deglingos

Is this not the funniest stuffed animal you have ever seen?  I've been thinking about what Ezra may become attached to in the near future because apparently this is the age when he may develop a fondness for a specific softie or blanket.  I would love if he carried around this funny rat by Les Deglingos.
Then there's always this bunny with buck teeth and a fluffy tail, but I have a feeling Matt will think it's too girly.
Or maybe a funny sheep!  Sorry I keep describing everything as 'funny,' but I can't help it... these things are so funny!  I especially love their swirly eyes.  I see a new stuffed animal in Ezra's future.

let them eat cake

(image via 20x200)
Yesterday was my mom's birthday and we ate cake.  Specifically, this cake.  Delicious.  In honor of my mom I searched high and low for a cake image and I found this beauty.  Artist Martha Rich says, "Painting cakes and food are a means of comfort to me. Cakes represent hope. They are baked for celebrations and for good times. Everyone likes cakes. If someone bakes you a cake you know you are cared for, but real cakes are temporary and if you eat too much you may feel sick. These cakes care forever and won’t make you sick."  I love it.  Perfect for my imaginary dining room wall gallery.  See more of Martha's work here.  Happy birthday, Mom!  I love you.
